can find our Maritime Bulletin 50, including a very interesting study about
reefer market (West Coast of South America), in English. This working paper analyses the market of maritime
fruit exports from Chile, Ecuador and Peru. The work defines the main export
markets, volumes and commodity types. Particular emphasis is given to seaborne
transport and the differentiation of reefer trade in conventional reefer ships
and the growing importance of containerized reefer transport. Shipping costs
are a decisive factor for the competitiveness of fruits in the destination
markets. Therefore a comparison of voyage costs of conventional reefer ships
from three main fruit export countries is analysed . This issue was written by
